Hydraulic Motor Overview

Posted on 07/04/2024

A hydraulic motor is an actuator that converts hydraulic energy into mechanical energy and continuously rotates.

Hydraulic motors and hydraulic pumps have different technical requirements. Hydraulic pumps require high volumetric efficiency and reduced leakage, while hydraulic motors require high mechanical efficiency and can obtain larger output torque. In actual use, hydraulic pumps usually rotate in one direction and have a high operating speed, while hydraulic motors mostly rotate in two directions and require very low speeds.

Hydraulic motors are basically the same as hydraulic pumps according to their structural classification.Compared with electric motors, hydraulic motors have small structure, light weight, high power, large speed ratio, infinitely variable speed, small rotational inertia, rapid starting and braking, and are suitable for automatic control systems.
